Home > Pokemon Home Pokedex Progress
I have given myself the task of completeing the Pokemon Home pokedex to get the moneys worth out of the yearly subscription. This idea came to me when I modded my old 3DS and sent a few Pokemon from my old version of Pokemon X to the Pokemon Bank and then Home. Pokemon Home offers shiny legendary pokemon as a reward for completing the Pokedex for certain games. I owned a majority of them so I decided to take on the task. Seems like a fun way to keep Pokemon relevant while I wait for the new generation to arrive in 2027. Which it looks so so so good. I really hope that it lives up to the hype.
I started transferring Pokemon from my old games in October of 2023, which was mostly just the shinies I hunted for in my copy of Pokemon X. Those were some great times, it was my first experience with the true shiny grind. I don't think I ever remember seeing or encountering a shiny Pokemon from my GB copy of Pokemon Red. March 20 - The first Pokedex I started was Paldea from Pokemon Scarlet/Violet. This one for me was going to be the easiest as I had completed the Pokedex in game and got the shiny charm. Most of my modern day Pokemon shiny hunting was done in Pokemon Violet since the method is quite easy (used the outbreak method with shiny boost sandwiches). After transferring in the first batches of pokemon I got 346/400 off the bat. The missing ones were pre evolutions that I needed to grind a bit for
